EL CENTRO — The Imperial Board of Supervisors are questioning whether to continue its Loan at Work program for county employees because of its extremely high interest rates.

On Jan. 15, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with BMG Money Inc. for a program offering county employees emergency personal loans of $500 to $5,000 with an interest rate of 23.9 percent on the loans.
