EL CENTRO — Since Imperial County has not heard back from the California Office of Emergency Services on issues involving the New River, it is turning to a federal agency for assistance.

On Tuesday the Board of Supervisors approved a letter their Chairman Luis Plancarte wrote to the International Boundary and Water Commissioner Jayne Harkins to tell her the county’s situation.
