Board selects first woman to County Counsel

Katherine Kmiec Turner

The Imperial County Board of Supervisors, in a milestone-decision, unanimously appointed Katherine Kmiec Turner as the first woman to lead the County Counsel department during closed session of their meeting Tuesday.

“They (board) reviewed all the good work she has done for them. She has become a go-to person in the department,” County Counsel Michael Rood said. “She has proved that she can deal with people and give answers to the board and they have been impressed with her over time.”
