Detention facilities respond to COVID-19 threat

EL CENTRO — Local detention facilities have adopted a series of precautionary measures aimed at preventing the potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19 within their respective institutions.

To date, no individuals housed or employed at the county Sheriff’s Office facilities, immigration detention center or local state prisons have been quarantined or tested for COVID-19, officials said.
