El CENTRO — More than 50 individuals spoke Wednesday afternoon in favor of the Imperial County Fire Department being the Certified Unified Program Agency during an appeal to the California Environmental Protection Agency, which had denied the fire department’s application in March.

Of the dozens of people who spoke at the public hearing, not one voiced concerns with the fire department being the CUPA.
