IMPERIAL — With construction still going on at Imperial Cross Elementary School, about 10 teachers still visited the new school to get their classrooms ready for the first day of school on Aug. 19 and for Thursday’s ribbon cutting for parents, students and the community.

While the facilities have not officially been handed over to the school yet, construction crews opened the classrooms for the teachers who wanted to get an early start on preparing their classrooms. Teachers are required to show up on Wednesday.
