EL CENTRO — Following a public hearing where only one member of the community spoke, the City Council here approved new fees for commercial cannabis permits during its regular meeting on Aug. 4.

The fees add up to a total of about $8,500, and consist of three distinct phases, or review processes, that will allow city staff to score and rank applicants based on the merits of their respective applications.
