EL CENTRO — Law enforcement officials on Wednesday fanned out across the downtown area as part of a crime suppression effort that supplemented the city’s ongoing initiative to address homelessness issues.

The authorities busied themselves making contact with individuals suspected of loitering or trespassing at public and private locations, and making arrests when warranted.
