LOS ANGELES — An 80-year-old El Centro resident diagnosed with terminal cancer has won a $3 million court verdict from an industrial mechanization contractor he said exposed him to asbestos during his career as a laborer.

A Los Angeles jury found D.W. Nicholson Corp. was negligent and responsible for contributing to Ervan Groves’ terminal mesothelioma.
