Event aims to help parents save on back-to-school costs

EL CENTRO — Free school supplies and low-cost haircuts were provided at the Learning Institute of Southern California Barber School on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new barber school located on Park Avenue partnered with the LGBT Resource Center of Imperial Valley for a Haircut-a-thon to generate proceeds and help fund the center’s upcoming pride event.
