EL CENTRO — A 63-year-old former Centinela State Prison employee on Monday pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on various charges alleging he accepted $2,100 to deliver cell phones to two inmates.

Victor Manuel Morlett, who has not been arrested in connection to the alleged crimes and remains out of custody on his own recognizance, is due back in court Sept. 3 for a preliminary setting hearing.
