EL CENTRO — The former Imperial High student accused of threatening to shoot classmates in 2018 is seeking the termination of a protective order that reportedly is preventing him from enrolling in local college courses.

Karl Manaig appeared briefly Tuesday at the county Superior Court courthouse here for a hearing to discuss a defense motion filed on his behalf seeking the termination of a criminal protective order.
