EL CENTRO — A former Centinela State Prison employee on Tuesday was sentenced to three years of probation for accepting a $500 bribe from an inmate in exchange for contraband.

As part of a plea agreement, 63-year-old El Centro resident Victor Manuel Morlett pleaded no contest on Sept. 3 to one felony count of accepting a bribe from a prison inmate.
