EL CENTRO — Children and teens within the local foster care system are now left with fewer options for emotional and academic support, due to funding cuts to two Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program programs.

IVROP’s Rising Stars, a one-of-its-kind program in the Valley which has served hundreds of local foster youth over the past two years, has been shut down due to a lack of funding, IVROP management confirmed Friday.
