CALEXICO — A shared concern for the safety and well-being of the city’s residents and visitors recently prompted the Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District to donate about $315,000 in purchased equipment to the Calexico Fire Department.

The donated equipment includes 32 sets of personal safety gear for firefighters, four state-of-the-art heart monitors/defibrillators and 15 sets of breathing apparatus, all of which will replace equipment that has nearly become outdated.
