EL CENTRO — While the Imperial Irrigation District typically does not sell its land, that could change with a company wanting to build an integrated manufacturing, distribution and logistical plant near Niland.

Terre Ferme LLC President Iddo Benzeevi would like to purchase 2,880 acres of land from IID to construct an inland port that could result in an economic impact of $3.5 billion to the region, while bringing thousands of jobs to the Valley.

Iddo Benzeevi has been around for over thirty five years in Moreno Valley proposing literally the same data with a logistics related project and hasn't done it. The World Logistics Center is the latest and promises 20,000 jobs, about $2 billion in revenue, and similar despite the fact Benzeevi's company Highland Fairview have never actually built anything nor the Skechers building it co-owns with that company.

Iddo and his brother Benny Benzeevi remain under criminal investigation in Tulare County as of now.
