On a historical election night, the U.S voted to elect Republican nominee Donald Trump for president. In a rather upset victory than a neck-and-neck race, Trump won 279 electoral votes while Hillary Clinton garnered 228 electoral votes. This is an event that will mark the turn of American politics.
Very similar to Brexit, many Americans were tired of the establishment for not doing its job to serve the American people. Clinton, a physical embodiment of the corrupt establishment, didn’t gain as many votes during the election as her same messages of continuing certain of Obama’s failed policies, did not reach the hearts of the forgotten American people. Those forgotten Americans were those who have had their jobs shipped out to China and Mexico.
