IMPERIAL — In 2015, Imperial Valley Food Bank Executive Director Sara Griffen and her colleagues approached county Supervisor Mike Kelley with the idea of embarking on a quest.

The quest had a simple, yet demanding goal: raise $6,500,000 so that IVFB could move out of its undersized, county-owned warehouse on Applestill Road in El Centro and build a new, sufficient headquarters.
