IMPERIAL — It was a noisy, fiery, spark-flying and vegetable-identifying morning at Imperial Valley College when welding and ag students from five different high schools gathered for the annual Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program Agriculture and Welding Competition here Monday morning.

This is the first year the annual competition has included students involved in agriculture classes and tested their knowledge as it related to livestock and vegetable identification.
