Land of Extremes: The stars come to Imperial Valley

Anyone who has driven through western Imperial County at night, or camped in its wilderness, knows the sheer size and scope of the darkened sky.

At the Imperial Valley Desert Museum in Ocotillo, we celebrate that opportunity. Much like the sprawl of the desert below, the skies above the museum stretch uninterrupted, and with minimal light pollution from surrounding urban areas.
