CALEXICO — While the large, international border fence between Calexico and Mexicali is capable of stopping plenty, it has yet to stop the two sister cities’ shared desire to beat breast cancer.

The annual Lazo Rosa Binational Walk event on Wednesday showed just that, as the two communities rallied to show their support for the fight against the disease and for patients currently diagnosed with it — no matter what side of the fence they live on.
