Market Day takes flight despite turbulence

IMPERIAL — It is a small town here but with a big heart and in spite of the cloud cover, the planned “Taking Flight” defied gravity and proceeded on schedule Friday.

Even though the evening’s pilots’ welcome was a wash, as most of them were scheduled to arrive from Riverside and were unable to fly. But intrepid vendors stayed through the damp to serve a modest yet appreciative crowd at Market Day. But tomorrow’s Aviation Day will continue as planned, Ember Haller, city of Imperial recreational program manager assured.
