A woman who allegedly escaped from U.S. custody was arrested by state police officers in Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood.

The Baja California Attorney General’s Office said Chani Ching, 28, was wanted in the United States for a prison break. U.S. Marshals said the escapee had served 32 months for trying to smuggle 17 pounds of meth through the Otay port of entry in 2017 before escaping and crossing into Mexicali.
