BRAWLEY — In an effort to eliminate gang violence and promote harmony in others, the Mothers and Men Against Gangs Coalition held a vigil to kick off its unity in the community campaign and remember the life of Martin Alberto Garza.
The Brawley Union High School student’s life was tragically cut short after he was fatally stabbed just one year ago and was the motivation behind the coalition’s establishment and mission to help bring awareness about the prevention of gang involvement.
