A few Sundays ago, I had dinner reservations in Palm Desert. As I approached the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 86, I observed an extremely long line to the checkpoint. I used the odometer and found that the line was just over “a mile of cars” long and took 25 minutes to reach.

While I understand the need for security, this is ridiculous and unjustified. There were no cars in secondary, so there appeared to be no reason for it.

I have a hard time believing the wait was 25 minutes.
