State shortfall prompts $4 million reduction for IVC

IMPERIAL — An unexpected $4.1 million reduction in its current fiscal year budget has prompted Imperial Valley College to adopt an immediate hiring freeze.

The funding reduction is the result of a $228 million statewide shortfall for the California Community Colleges system, announced April 26.
