SEELEY — This past Wednesday was a “dream come true” for Imperial Valley residents Todd Finnell and Kimberly Lyon. The two local educators were chosen as two “key influencers” and were honored with a VIP “backseat” flight on an F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet with the Blue Angels.

The Key Influencer Program has been a part of the Blue Angel air shows for many years. According to the Department of the Navy, key influencers are defined as the people who help to shape attitudes and opinions of youth in the community. They may be experts in their field, public figures, teachers, guidance counselors, coaches, school administrators or leaders of youth organizations.
