Valley Briefs: EL CENTRO: DUI driver hits CUHS parking lot fence

A drunk driver was arrested after crashing into the Central Union High School parking lot fence on Friday night and fleeing the scene. The incident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. The driver collided into a section of the parking lot fence on West Holt Avenue. The vehicle reportedly remained in the parking lot for some time before fleeing northbound on Imperial Avenue. Police were notified, and, within minutes, found the vehicle, a gray 2006 GMC Sierra, traveling near 12th Street and Rose Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted, and it was discovered the vehicle still had parts of the fence on it. The driver, who was not identified, was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for a blood draw and was taken into custody for alleged DUI and hit and run. PHOTO VINCENT OSUNA
