How to diversify California's clean energy mix by adding geothermal resources to the state's renewable energy portfolio will be the focus of a hearing scheduled for Thursday in the state capitol.

"Despite geothermal contributions to the grid, the use of this power source has been steadily decreasing over time. We need clear answers and a thorough understanding of how geothermal power can be used to advance renewable energy production in California," said Sen. Ben Hueso in a statement.
