IMPERIAL — Some 80 local women in business, education, healthcare and other professions gathered Friday for an educational and networking event aimed at personal encouragement and empowerment.

The Power Up! Women’s Business Empowerment Event, held at the Ricochet Rec Center here, was the brainchild of the Jodi Rollins, owner of Rollins Creative LLC and founder of the Imperial Valley Ag Expo.
