EL CENTRO — The Central Union Adult School opened its classroom doors during a ceremony here Wednesday.

Located at 2345 S. Second St. the new school is set to provide more programs for adults seeking their GED.

The refurbished facility, which once housed the Social Security office, saw nearly $700,000 of improvements.

Paid for by the Adult Education Block Grant from the state, the school came to fruition between the collaboration of Imperial Valley College, Imperial County Office of Education, Central Union High School and other adult education programs.
