I want to respond to Devon Apodaca’s pit bull promotion of Oct. 21.

Pit bulls kill more people, pets and livestock than all other dog breeds combined, according to my Google research.

Mr. Dantice opines, "However, over time, pit bulls have been genetically changed by dog fighting breeders who have focused on selecting and breeding for aggression."

Where did that particular, and vague in the extreme, factoid spring from? And, assuming some of it were true, what certainty does he have that one such aggression-"bred" pit-bull attacked his dog? Way too much speculation for this reader.

Be well.
