Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” He also said, “The good man is the friend of all things.”

Whether one believes in Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, the general consensus of belief in today’s world is that the human is the superior being in the animal kingdom. If we do have superior brain power, why, then, does it not become our responsibility to care for and preserve the welfare of our world and all things within?
