No one argues that renewable energy is not good for our country and for the State of California. However, Imperial County Board of Supervisor Raymond Castillo is all over the map on the benefits that geothermal exploration can have for Imperial County.

Mr. Castillo makes the statement that “Property taxes for geothermal plants are high, so the result would mean big bucks for the county.” This statement leads the reader to believe that because this is a geothermal plant, then taxes on geothermal plants are high.
