EL CENTRO - The Imperial County Office of Education on Friday released a resolution recommending conditional approval of the Imagine Schools Imperial County charter.
Among its recommended conditions for approval, ICOE is requesting that ISIC maintain financial reserves for its initial three years of operation of at least 3 percent and submit to financial reporting and auditing practices recommended by ICOE.
Additionally, ICOE is asking that one of its representatives be granted a seat on the ISIC board for the entire term of the five-year charter, and seek ICOE approval for any potential opening of additional campuses.
All told, ICOE has issued 20 conditions for approval, including that ISIC acquire accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges prior to the five-year charter's renewal.
The ICOE staff's resolution recommending ISIC charter approval will be presented to the ICOE Board of Trustees on Monday for possible approval.
