WESTMORLAND -- The Westmorland Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying a male subject who reportedly used a handgun to rob the Sol Market early Monday morning.

The suspect is alleged to have entered the store at about 2:45 a.m. wearing a black hoodie and with his face covered by a black ski mask and demanded cash from a clerk, said Chief Perry Monita.

The clerk reportedly provided money to the suspect from the store's cash register.

The suspect reportedly then fled northbound on foot across Main Street. No one was injured, as the employees at El Sol remained calm and followed the suspect's instructions, Monita stated in an email.

The Police Department is checking videos at several locations for possible leads to the suspect. It is requesting that if anyone can provide any information regarding the suspect that they contact the Westmorland Police Department at (760) 344-3457.
