STUDIO CITY — Imperial heavyweight boxing champion Andy Ruiz Jr. climbs back into the ring on Saturday when he takes on 45-year-old Ray Austin at the Sportsmans Lodge here in a Solo Boxeo Tecate card scheduled to be televised on UniMas.

Ruiz (26-0, 17 KOs) hasn’t fought since October and has fought only twice in the last 17 months. In October, the 26-year-old scored an unimpressive unanimous decision victory over Raphael Zumbano Love in Omaha, Neb. According to Top Rank, Ruiz pulled out of a fight earlier this year because he was “not mentally prepared to fight.”
