EL CENTRO — The Palo Verde Yellowjackets combined a strong running game with an opportunistic defense Thursday night to spoil homecoming for the Southwest High School Eagles, 42-0.
The Yellowjackets, who in recent years have occupied the Manzanita League’s lower rungs, simply overpowered the Eagles and held a 35-0 advantage entering halftime.
