CALEXICO — The Calexico girls’ soccer team earned a 1-0 win over the visiting Gila Ridge Hawks on Thursday afternoon thanks in large part to the “never-say-die” play of goalkeeper Laisha Delgado.

The Bulldogs didn’t dominate possession and spent a solid chunk of the game on their heels, fending off wave after wave of Gila Ridge attacks.
