Turnout at tryout underscores local hunger for football

EL CENTRO — A football, some friends, strips of cloth and a field is all that is needed to play flag football — no face mask required.

While some players chose to bring a face mask, the main focus during the Imperial Valley Spartans’ youth flag football tryout session on Sunday evening was, in fact, football.
