IMPERIAL — For decades, Brawley Union High’s football program has been known for its ground-and-pound style. So when the Wildcats needed a fourth-quarter, game-winning drive, it’s no surprise they ran the ball 10 straight times to score and beat Imperial, 20-19, in the Imperial Valley League opener for both schools here on Friday.

Trailing 19-14 with 7:41 left in the game, Brawley (5-1 overall, 1-0 in IVL) delivered a Wildcat classic drive, going 59 yards in 10 plays (all rushes) with the final 13 yards coming from senior running back Michael Moreno who dove across the goal line to put his squad up 20-19 with 2:15 left.
